We had a super short meeting on September 23rd! Here are the highlights on what we discussed.
By far, the most significant action we took was to bond for the preliminary planning expenses for the improvement of Everett Field. This represents a new phase of the project. We now have the funds to develop a final design for the renovation. There is still a lack of consensus amongst the Council on a few of the elements of the redesigned baseball field, but at least we have moved this forward to continue the conversation.
Under resolutions, the most exciting development is that we finally started a digitization project of our records for the clerk's office and building department by hiring Foveonics Imaging Technologies. This project has been discussed for many, many years and is very necessary to help with reducing storage costs, responding to OPRA requests, and providing a more efficient government.
Other resolution highlights include renewing our agreement with the Land Conservancy of NJ for strategic work on open space, establishing an agreement with Mott McDonald for professional services for some water and sewer projects, closing out the Derwent road project and accepting grants for firefighting equipment and opioid addiction treatment services.
We had no executive session.
That is it! As with all things, if you have any questions please send them to the entire Council here: https://www.veronanj.org/councilcontactform.
